Biography of Mudgalpeethadheeshwar Jagadguru Shankaracharya Shree Shree 1008 Lal Baba Swami Ajayaanand Ji Maharaj

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Shree Shree 1008 Lal Baba Swami Ajayaanand Ji Maharaj (born Ajay Kumar Mishra on 5 January 1974) is a Hindu saint and spiritual leader based in Mudgal Dham, formerly known as Mandharpur, located in Mungra Badshahpur of Jaunpur district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, India.

He is widely known among devotees as Lal Baba, a name associated with his spiritual lineage and early life in an adhyatmik gurugharana. Swami Ajayaanand Ji Maharaj is the founder of the religious and social service organization Maa Amrawati Jan Kalyan Sewa Trust, which operates from Mudgal Dham and works for spiritual awareness and public welfare.

Today he is known as Jagadguru Shankaracharya Shree Shree 1008 Lal Baba Swami Ajayaanand Ji Maharaj, and his influence continues to expand among devotees across different parts of India.

Early Life and Spiritual Background

Swami Ajayaanand Ji Maharaj is born into a spiritually rooted Brahmin family. His father, Late Pandit Tilak Dhari Mishra, and his mother, Late Amrawati Mishra, belong to a family deeply connected with Sanatan spiritual traditions.

His birth name is Ajay Kumar Mishra, but from a young age people affectionately call him Lal Baba because of his spiritual nature and family’s long-standing gurugharana tradition. From childhood he grows up in an environment of devotion, rituals, and spiritual teachings, which shape his path as a religious guide, long with spiritual practices, he also begins giving Guru Diksha (spiritual initiation) to devotees from an early stage of his life. Over time, many followers begin to accept him as their spiritual guide.

Mudgal Dham and Maa Vaishnavi Shaktipeeth

Under the spiritual leadership of Swami Ajayaanand Ji Maharaj, the village Mandharpur, Mungra Badshahpur, Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh 222202, gradually develops into an important spiritual center. The place now becomes widely known as Mudgal Dham, where the Maa Vaishnavi Shaktipeeth is currently being established.

This Shaktipeeth is envisioned as a major center for devotion, spiritual learning, and religious activities. Devotees from different regions visit Mudgal Dham to receive blessings, spiritual guidance, and Guru Diksha from Swami Ajayaanand Ji Maharaj.

In 2021, Swami Ajayaanand Ji Maharaj receives the respected spiritual title “Shree Shree 1008”, which significantly increases his recognition among devotees. The title is bestowed by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Narendranand Saraswati, the Peethadheeshwar of Kashi Sumeru Peeth.

After receiving this honor, he becomes widely known across several cities of India as Shree Shree 1008 Lal Baba, and the number of followers and disciples continues to grow.

A major milestone in his spiritual journey occurs on 15 February 2026, when he is honored again by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Narendranand Saraswati with the title of Jagadguru. Following this recognition, he becomes popularly known as Jagadguru Shankaracharya Shree Shree 1008 Lal Baba Swami Ajayaanand Ji Maharaj.

Since receiving the Jagadguru title, his spiritual activities, teachings, and public engagements expand significantly.

Religious Work and Social Service

Swami Ajayaanand Ji Maharaj establishes Maa Amrawati Jan Kalyan Sewa Trust, a religious and charitable organization named in memory of his mother, Late Amrawati Mishra.

The trust works in multiple areas including:

Organization of religious ceremonies and gatherings

Social welfare and charitable activities
